So what is everyone doing online? Social networking site, Facebook is in top spot with 39.5% of the viewers catching up. The popular networking site is so poular that it is thought to influence tv ratings. Then come search engines Google and Yahoo. This shows that watching tv whilst networking is a growing trend. Viewers were also looking at Wikipedia which would suggest they were looking for information on the show currently being watched.

This is a good sign for manufacturers of internet connected tv’s with widgets available on the same screen as the show. Imagine not having to crick your neck looking up at one screen then down to another. Pretty soon anyone buying a new tv will be reading this while watching tv.
