I have had graboid for almost 2 yrs and am looking to see if it plays on ipad. I have never had any problems and customer service has always been nice. I stream shows directly onto my tv and it my be because I have a nice computer, but It always streams really quickly.

It isn’t a scam. It really isn’t and it is totally worth $5 a month

Typical downloading software. Works well at first and then it turns out to be rubbish. Had no problems in the first week, but after a couple of weeks can’t even get the short cut to work and trying to login via the normal website prompts me to upgrade without taking me where I want to go. Just another internet scam. Stay away.

hi can anyone explain how to download graboid on ipad. A window opens asking whether I want to donload on files or goodreader, following which nothing seems to work. Thanks dor your insight.

This app is clearly a “portal” to illegally copied and hosted movie rips. I have no problem with this principle except where people think they are paying for a legal service and feel that they should get support when movies don’t work, etc. My Dad stumbled across this “service” (it’s actually just an app, the content is hosted on newsgroups illegally already) and was ready to pay for it, thinking he was about to pay for a Netflix type service – which this very definitely is not.

Graboid is awesome. It usually works just great. For those that complain about the quality or speed of dl, look at what you are downloading. If the file is 47800 megabytes (Mb) it may actually be the file you want but it is going to take forever to download and run badly, so you should find a different file of the same thing.

Secondly be smart, don’t download files that people have voted don’t work b.c they usually don’t work.

@ evelyn: Right click on graboid, select open file location, and then go to the graboid icon and right click and select run as administrator. That happened to me too. It has something to do with windows 7/vista writing software that causes a glitch on some computers.

I used graboid until all the movies I spent hours downloading were gone off my list. Blank. Gone. I tried to contact Graboid with NO response. Cancelled them wth explaination. NO response. They send me the newsletter and again I tell them why I do not use them. NO response. I have DSL and it took about 1 to 2 hours to download each movie and these were short movies, I was downloading the Charlie Chan movies then what was days of work, gone. No suggestions or appologies from Graboid. I realy like all the choices but why pay for all the extra download and it’s gone. NO offer to help in any way.

If it takes matt 12 hours to download a movie, maybe it’s time for him to buy more bandwith on his internet provider. I download one in about 30 minutes

Graboid is a very very good program the best out there so far. One thing i would like to see from them though is a yearly plan. I dont like the monthly thing reminds me too much of cable company…LOL…anyone agrees?

It takes alot longer than 30 minutes to download a full movie, it takes around 12 hours. But still worth the money.

Graboid is great and for the money it’s incredible value. I’ve even turned on loads of friends and family members to it who aren’t neccessarily well versed in web tech. One drawback is, it needs more TV content. There’re great quality TV shows now that should be on graboid but are not, though some popular ones are. So please someone involve in the running of graboid, please do something about it. THANKS!!

Just got the free trial Gaboid, and watched ‘Alien’ from 1979. And it was great! Gonna give it chance, as it’s the best I’ve seen so far!

I think most people can realize how nebulous the above poster is being. If graboid were to start refunding bandwidth every single time someone made an error they would very likely go out of business. Most likely the “smart alleck” responses he received were by folks on the support forums and not from the actual grabiod staff. Graboid is actually a very small company, it is the members of the support forum who can provide you with the most help if you’re willing to take the time poke around the forum and look through the threads on the various troubleshooting topics.

I use it almost every day. The content is incredible. I run into very few “bad links” because graboid doesn’t actually host anything. They are giving me a link to a file that has been posted on the Usenet groups and most of them by far work fine. I can then download the file and do whatever I want with it.

I download entire seasons of television shows and they are all good quality videos. I am now downloading Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. All 7 seasons! Look it up. It costs hundreds of dollars to purchase this show. I am going to download it and burn it for about 10 bucks. And most of that cost is the blank DVD’s.

Sure, the program has quirks, but for my money I am getting what I paid for and then some.

The newest version 1.65 is better than ever and the forums are beginning to quiet down for troubleshooting.

And remember anyone can try it for free. Anyone who says different is either lying or hasn’t really tried it themselves.

Graboid is a small company If big dave got the response he claimed it was because he was a rude person. Most of the support is given by unpaid volunteer users and is of a high quality. For about a dollar a day you get 500 gigabytes of high quality video! I have not found another site that even compares on quality or selection. While it is true that you may have some issues at first (or may not many don’t)There is a highly responsive support forum of advanced users that will help dial you in. I have canceled my cable!

Graboid is one of a kind BIGDAVE. No other service does what Graboid does. There are ways to manually do it and there are some other programs that will download from usenet in the same manner…but nothing like Graboid.

Graboid is amazing. It maxes out your internet connection and downloads a full avi movie in 10 minutes on a 10mb line. The collection is astonishing when compared to any other site. The HD is awesome (though you cannot stream it). I had some issues about Graboid. I was charged for double downloading a movie. It was the first time I used their service and mistakenly downloaded the same movie twice. I asked them to look into it and credit my account. What I got back from them was a smart alleck low life character attack. I will not PAY someone to verbally assault me and accuse me of being a thief. Graboid needs to expunge the teenagers off their staff and join the real world of customer service. I see their crappy blue pages everywhere on the web. They have to realize there are a thousand places selling the same service as them that know how to treat the customer.They need to GROW UP and come back in a year or ten and try again.

I had some issues with Graboid Video running on Windows Vista. I wasn’t able to download, I think the firewall was blocking my application and Graboid Video continued to crash. However with the latest version I was able to do everything on Vista. For those who has the same problem like me, make sure to download the latest version of Graboid Video.
