Google Beefing Up Youtube Content With Next New Networks Buyout
Late last year rumors were in the air that Google were looking to buy Next New Networks, an independent viral video creator and distribution company. Now according to the Wall Street Journal, it looks to be a nearly done deal.
Google who own Youtube want to keep both companies in the dominant positions for search and video content online. The Journal reports that the deal may be completed by next week and will help Youtube in generating more professional content.
Although Youtube are the number one (by a mile) video site, they struggle to monetise short content generally showing people walking into things or singing badly. In the new online video era, Youtube need to compete with more professional rivals Netflix and Hulu.
Google are competing with rivals, including Yahoo and AOL in the race to buy up online media companies which include Next New Networks says the story.
It may well cost Google tens of millions for the company who generate from a pool of about 65 semi-professional filmmakers. The company have produced viral music hits such as ‘Bed Intruder Song’ and ‘Glitter Puke’. These videos managed to get around 110 million views between them.

Working for DISH Network I was able to purchase the Google TV and I absolutely love it! I like that I can be watching TV while tweeting or searching online. I love the integration feature that it has with DISH. Whenever I am searching for a show on my DVR it pulls up all websites containing to that show. I would recommend the Google TV over anything to anyone.
