Freeview TV App Comes To Android And iPad Minus Streaming
Viewers of Freeview TV channels in the UK may be excited to hear that a TV app for Android and iPad has been released, unfortunately it comes minus any streaming content though.
The app follows the iPhone app which was launched last August. The app is essentially a TV Guide that gives your basic app features such as an interactive TV guide, recommendations, top picks section, sharing option and the ability to add favorites.
If your into Tweeting, you may also enjoy the twitter area that shows realtime tweets of shows airing. You can select any channel and it will display all tweets telling you it’s a must watch show or more likely, complete junk.
Speaking for Freeview, Adrian Mack, New Media Manager said, “Freeview aims to offer the best subscription-free TV service possible and the upgrade of our Freeview HD TV Guide app underlines this. We want as many of our viewers to be able to benefit from the new features, with the Android and tablet market opening doors to an even wider audience—as well as offering new features such as the personalised recommendations to new and existing users.”
Interested parties can download the Freeview HD TV Guide app from the iTunes Store aor for Android tablet and phone users, the Android Market.
