Foxtel To Stream Over 30 TV Channels On Xbox 360 Console

Who wants to play games when you can watch tv?

Australian Cable network Foxtel are to launch a new Xbox 360 tv streaming  service, offering 30 plus tv channels to view after your joystick gets overheated. Expected to launch this year, the service will offer channels such as Fox Sports, Discovery, Nickelodeon, Disney and MTV. Users do not have to be a subscriber to Foxtel, but will require a console (of course), an Xbox Gold subscription and a Foxtel by Xbox LIVE subscription.

Prices and package details are still but it is expected that the Foxtel Xbox 360 service will also offer “a wide range of Video-on-Demand (VoD) services, including television series and movies.

Its all good news for Aussie game console, tv lovers as the free-to-air networks are offering their free online Catch Up TV services, which are coming directly to TVs, Blu-ray players and games consoles such as the PlayStation 3. However, the Foxtel Xbox 360 deal with Microsoft could mean a lack of Catch Up TV services on the console.
