Foxtel Go App Debuts In Australia

Foxtel, a television broadcast company in Australia has taken its wildly successful pay TV programming mobile with the new Foxtel Go app, exclusively for the iPad. Available on Tuesday the new app allows users to watch Foxtel Go on their iPad by downloading it for free from the iTunes App Store. Currently the streaming video service is only available to residential customers and is included as part of their already current subscription.

Foxtel Go offers 21 live channels including 24 hours news, live English Premier League, a kids network, music channels and more. A sample  list of the channels include The LifeStyle Channel, A&E, National Geographic, Disney, Cartoon Network, Channel [V}, Cbeebies, Crickey, Rugby Union and much more. FOX Sports comes with an additional 3 channels for sports fans to find their favorite sport.

“The TV landscape has changed, viewers are not just watching TV in the living room they’re watching TV on the way to work, at the beach or in another room of the house,” said Richard Freudenstein, Foxtel CEO.  We’re really excited and we think our customers will love this new way to watch Foxtel.”

The new Foxtel Go App is currently only available for users with iPads that have iOS 5 and higher. A Foxtel online account linked to an existing subscription are required to use the service. Two iPads using the same login credentials can be used to watch live streaming television through the Foxtel App at a time and users will be able to stream content using a 3G/4G wireless service or traditional WiFi.
