Facebook Bring Hulu To Your Timeline
Facebook have announced that streaming service, Hulu will be integrated into users accounts, turning the former chat site into an entertainment center. Mark Zuckerberg the Facebook co-founder revealed the radical changes to the worlds biggest social media website at the Facebook F8 developers conference.
Facebook are currently making changes to users wall display and a redesign for users profile pages. Zuckerberg says describes the change as a, “new way to express who you are.”
The beginnings of the TV/Facebook social TV hybrid comes in the form of a new Hulu app, which lets users watch Hulu streaming from within Facebook. Users previously had to leave FAcebook and be directed to Hulu’s website.
When watching Hulu content from Facebook, viewers can share with friends and comment during the timeline of the video. Hulu blogged about how the new app will also let you see what your friends are watching too, thereby engaging them in a conversation.
The good news is that Hulu Plus subscribers will also get access to the full library as well. The move is part of Facebook’s plan to turn the site into an entertainment portal for TV, music, movies, e-books and anything else you can think of.
For music sharing, Facebook has joined forces with Spotify, Turntable.fm, Vevo and MOG amongst others. It looks to be a good move, especially for those addicted to Facebook and reluctant to ever leave the site. Now they dont have to.
