Ditch Your TV Remote. Here Comes Natal
Its an exciting time for tv remote fans. After hearing about the battery free remote control, news reaches us that Microsoft are claiming that their new Project Natal will remove the need for and replace your existing remote control.
The new project came about in response to the overwhelming success of the Nintendo Wii motion controller and moves the concept further by allowing us to control our games with our bodies, nothing to hold onto.

Microsoft’s Xbox Live general manager Marc Whitten, revealing that the increased proliferation of video content requires a new, more versatile controller.
“It won’t be a remote control that consumers use. A remote control is already too hard,” said Whitten, who was quoted by Yahoo Tech.
“With the flick of my wrist [using Natal] I can change a channel. With the power of my voice I can start a movie.”
He explained that the line between television, the Internet and game consoles would become increasingly blurred over the next five years.
“I don’t believe we are currently in the golden age of the television or the golden age of the game console or the golden age of the Internet. Frankly, five years from now I don’t know that you’ll be able to tell the difference between those worlds.”
Whitten added that Natal would be capable of automatically displaying content after recognizing users based on appearance and voice.
“The context is not one billion channels, but one. One channel, with what I want, when I want it.”
Project Natal is described by Microsoft as:-
Introducing Project Natal, a revolutionary new way to play: no controller required. See a ball? Kick it, hit it, trap it or catch it. If you know how to move your hands, shake your hips or speak you and your friends can jump into the fun — the only experience needed is life experience.
But the more exciting thing about this new invention is that somebody has invented a tv controller that you cannot lose.
