Comscore Video Data Shows Hulu Viewers Flatlining
Latest data from ComScore is out for the month of April. Results are very unsurprising with Youtube blowing everyone else away and Hulu in second. However the results also show that Hulu’s growth line has flattened out, and the viewer numbers are sticking around the same figure of 900 million – 1billion.
YouTube took pretty much the whole audience for Google and is on the rise again. Google video views online grew to 13.09 billion (43.2% of total videos viewed). That compares with a 41.8% share in March. Since buying YouTube several years ago for $1.65 billion, Google has been searching for ways to make it a profitable business and add more licensed content.
Elsewhere, Microsoft drew in 643.7 million views, or a 2.1% share, similar numbers to last month. Other stats show that in total the web users viewed 30.32 billion videos in the US alone, and around 83.5% of web users watched some form of online video for April.
