BBC iPlayer becomes kid friendly
The BBC’s iPlayer, although a superbly designed TV portal is not always suitable for kids, so the BBC have only gone and launched a child friendly iPlayer so kids can watch it’s catch up tv service.
Known as the ‘CBBC iPlayer’. It will let kids catch up with all of their favorite TV shows and give parents peace of mind in knowing that they are not watching unsuitable material that is broadcast after the watershed and suitable for adults only.
It is not yet clear if the junior iPlayer service will show all pre watershed content, or just content made specifically for children, such as content from CBeebies and CBBC. The BBC is currently sorting out final details. For children this will be just another digital form of entertainment to add to their collection of social networking and other sites.
So kids, stop looking at all that grown up stuff that’s unsuitable and start watching the Tweenies.
