The success of the online reboot of Arrested Development has led to talks of another season being commissioned by Netflix. The news comes from Bloomberg who report that the co-chairman of the production company, Brian Grazer has said he is in discussions with Netflix about the matter.
The fourth season was released in May after being cancelled by Fox back in 2006 after a three season run. The cult classic comedy series has been met with mixed reviews for the online series but is a strong enough brand to persevere with.
Grazer told Bloomberg, “We are in conversations with them [Netflix] to do another,”
Netflix have spent the last year heavily investing in original content for the online streaming platform. Apart from Arrested Development, their biggest hit so far is political thriller House of Cards. They have also released Horror series, Hemlock Grove and Prison drama, Orange is the new Black.
All the original shows have been given the green light for a new season.
