Arrested Development Returns As A Netflix Streaming Series

The Emmy award winning TV show, Arrested Development is returning from the dead to our screens, thanks to Netflix. The comedy series was cancelled in 2007 but kept a fan base from repeat showings and DVD sets.

Arrested Development returns online

The move continues the Netflix strategy of creating exclusive online content, to go with the expensive buying. They also have exclusive rights to the political drama starring Kevin Spacey, House of Cards.

The new Arrested Development episodes will be available by 2013 for Netflix subscribers. It is expected that the complete original cast will return, and there are said to even be plans for an Arrested Development movie.

The show will be made for Netflix by Twentieth Century Fox Television and Imagine Television, and will be shown exclusively on the online streaming service.

Spesaking about the development, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said, “Arrested Development is one of the finest American comedies in TV history and its return through Netflix is a perfect example of how we are working closely with studios and networks to provide consumers with entertainment they love.”

The number of shows to be made and date of screening are not yet known.
