Apocalypse Comes To Blinkbox After Movie Deal with StudioCanal

Tesco owned streaming service Blinkbox have struck a deal with StudioCanal which will see a whole host of top movies hading to the service.

Blinkbox-studiocanalBlinkbox which was brought by UK retailer Tesco in 2011, offers pay-to-view and rental of TV shows and movies much like the iTunes service.

Customers can watch content on a range of connected devices such as laptops, game consoles and tablets.

The StudioCanal deal will bring around 160 classic movies such as Apocalypse now, Source Code, and the Hurt Locker amongst others. Read the full press release below –

Apocalypse Now among classic titles added to service

January 23 2013: blinkbox has inked a landmark deal with leading film distributor StudioCanal, snapping up the rights to a range of popular titles including the film frequently voted by critics as the best ever – Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now.

Over 160 movies will be available to rent as part of the deal, including recent acclaimed releases Rust and Bone and Beasts of the Southern Wild.

Other popular movies available include Source Code, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Hurt Locker and Mulholland Drive.

As with all blinkbox titles, the films can be accessed on a rapidly growing number of devices, including games consoles, tablets and Smart devices (TVs, Blu-Ray players, set top boxes) as well as PCs and Macs.
