Google TV has not quite been the success story yet, that was envisioned by the Google. And now Amazon have dropped the price of the Logitech Revue to $199, in anticipation of the Android 3.1 update.

lThe Logitech Revue which comes with a keyboard style remote and lets users watch TV whilst surfing the internet and web apps, all on the same screen at the same time.

The new Google TV update when it comes will give users many new features, including the use of the thousands of apps from the Android Market. It is expected that new hardware will accompany the update, but the Revue will still get a software update so represents a good deal. So long as Google keep faith with the TV platform.

Although users should approach Google TV with caution, as there are many other hardware options out there. The drop of 33% is pretty impressive and puts the Revue at the same cost as the Boxee.
