Amazon have beefed up their online streaming service by adding more than 1000 more titles to their (almost) free on-demand service. Members of Amazon prime get the movie and TV titles for free, just needing to fork out the $79 yearly for free p&P on Amazon bought goods.

It is a move by Amazon to get closer to competing with rivals such as Netflix and Hulu Plus, who have many more titles in their lockers.

The additions still do not come close for movie and TV watchers, and Amazon is still pretty much only available via a PC rather than the array of devices Netflix can stream to.

But when Amazon launch their new tablet PC this year and bring out their rumored Android Instant Video app. Then we could see the competition really hotting up.
