Irish streaming fans can rejoice as a new service has been launched by Magnet Networks. Aertv.ie is a free live streaming TV service that offers eleven Irish and worldwide channels that include RTE One and two, TV3, TG4, France 24 and Russia Today amongst others.

Aertv will also also contain home-produced content and also has a dedicated live music channel called AerTV Music. Magnet said users can tweet and update from the same screen thanks to an integrated Twitter and Facebook facility.

Speaking for Magnet, Mark Kellett, CEO said that users are not consuming TV in the traditional way any more. “Aertv.ie is addressing that, building on what worked with Magnet Web TV by adding new content and making it easier to access,” he said. “Eleven free Irish channels is just the beginning.”

The channels can be streamed to most devices with an internet connection, from smartphones to laptops and tablet devices. The service is free and available for Irish residents, and is advertising funded.
